Pro-choice
The pro-choice view of abortion emphasizes the right of the woman. The child is a product of her body so she should be able to do with it as she pleases. Unplanned pregnancy may be inconvenient for the mother to raise a child at the time due to various circumstances. This could result in a poor life for the child and others. Another common reason to have an abortion is if there is some serious disability that the fetus is developing. There are many other reasons that a woman may get an abortion such as rape or serious risks of the mother's health delivering the child.
The pro-choice view also argues that a fetus is not really alive because it is not outside of the womb and cannot live without the nutrition provided by the mother.

This video presents issues that really make you think. If abortion was, in fact, illegal would people stop getting them or resort to the back-alley abortion clinics that were prevalent before 1973? At what time during a pregnancy should a women not be able to obtain an abortion? Should it be a woman's right to terminate her pregnancy in any of the three trimesters regardless of her situation just because those are her rights?
Pro-Life
On the other hand, the pro-life view of abortion focuses on the life of the unborn child. They believe life begins at conception and therefore the unborn should hold the same rights as all Americans and humans. Pro-life supporters fight to protect and speak for these unborn children. In contrast to the pro-choice view point, those who are pro-life view a fetus at any stage of pregnancy as a life and a life that deserves to have a chance to live regardless of the circumstances or inconvieniences the mother may be faced with. Many pro-lifers claim that the woman's right to chose is to decide to abstain from sex or use some form of contraception to prevent an unwanted pregnancy. They also argue that if the mother of the child is unable to raise it she has the option to give it up for adoption.

This commercial also presents some points worth considering. Just because an unborn child will be born without a father-figure or with a disability does that give others the right to decide if his life is worth living? How many successful, world-changing people would not be here today if that had been decided for them? Should a woman's right to choose ever infringe on a child's right to live?
